Glitterati Pearl Farms Organizes Pearl Farming Workshop
Glitterati Pearl Farms provides training for pearl farming every year. For the year 2022, the training was conducted on 15-16 October. The training took place at Dehpa, Pilkhuwa in Uttar Pradesh. With huge enrollments and zealous trainees, this was a grand event for Glitterati Pearl Farms. The enrollment for this training program began in the month of July till two days before training. Glitterati Pearl Farm has been a pioneer in pearl farming for 14 years and it also provides training once in a year to the candidates who are interested in pearl farming and want to start their project. The candidates are provided with the complete knowledge including all details that are important through the pearl farming project.
What was this workshop all about?
The training from Glitterati Pearl Farms was a two day programme. On the first day of the training, the session began with the introduction about the concept of pearl farming, its scope in India, market demand and supply of designer pearls in India followed by details about the types of mussels found in India and which mussels can be used for pearl farming in India. Further, the trainees were given complete knowledge about the kind of pond such as Natural ponds and artificial ponds, how to construct a pond and identification of natural and artificial ponds.
What did the trainees learn?
Once the candidates were familiarized with the concept of pearl farming and training. Further trainees learned about the use of wheel aerators in artificial ponds and ways to aerate the natural ponds. Ways to manage pH, ammonia and oxygen level and challenges that can occur due to changing levels of these parameters in the pond and ways to tackle these challenges were discussed. Trainees were told about the different types of surgeries such as gondal and mantle tissue insertion that are performed on mussels for pearl farming and the type of surgery which is performed at Glitterati Pearl Farms.
The first day of the training was concluded by the question and answer session with Achal Singh. After this, the trainees visited the site with Achal Singh where Glitterati Pearl Farms is deploying 20 lakh mussels. At the pond the trainees inspected the pond followed by a brief session about pond management by Achal Singh.
The Completion
The second day of the Glitterati Pearl Farms’ pearl farming workshop was dedicated to the surgery of the mussels. Surgery of mussels is an important process for formation of pearls. It is the surgery that determines the pearl formation. Trainees were taught to perform surgery on the mussels. Each trainee performed surgeries on mussels. The session further included the process of the pre-operative and post-operative conditions of the mussels. They were informed in detail about the precautions that needed to be taken for handling of the mussels when mussels arrive at the pond where these mussels are to be deployed. The session was followed by the question and answer where Achal Singh discussed in of the trainees that were raised by them.
TFinally, the training was completed by providing “Certificate of Pearl Farming Training Completion”. The certificates were distributed to the trainees followed by clicking the pictures.
